As a Christian, Who Do I Follow?

The label “Christian” has come to mean a lot of different things to a lot of different people. Our kids need to understand that a Christian should be a follower of Christ. Not a little. Not part way. But in ALL things and ALWAYS according to the Scripture.

Paul uses the illustration of walking with Jesus in Colossians 2 to show what it means to follow Christ. When we walk with someone, we’re in the same place, keeping the same pace and going in the same direction. To do this in our walk with Jesus, we have to understand what the Bible says about Him, follow His teachings and submit to His leadership in our life.

As parents and caregivers, we can show our kids what it looks like to walk with Jesus in the morning, in the evening, and throughout both the pleasant and challenging moments of each day. Let’s follow Christ, together.
