When was the last time you celebrated something? How did you feel when you were celebrating?
If you ever need to be reminded of God’s great power and mighty works, take a step outside and look up at the sky. It may be blue, gray, sunny, full of clouds or twinkling with stars — and God created it all! We can celebrate the great works of God and praise Him every day!
In the book of Psalms, David tells us all God’s works give Him thanks. Let’s take a closer look at what David said about praising God’s great works in Psalm 145:8-13.

The Lord is gracious and merciful, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love. The Lord is good to all, and His mercy is over all that He has made. All Your works shall give thanks to You, O Lord, and all your saints shall bless You! They shall speak of the glory of Your kingdom and tell of Your power, to make known to the children of man Your mighty deeds, and the glorious splendor of Your kingdom. Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and Your dominion endures throughout all generations. The Lord is faithful in all His words and kind in all His works.
David says the Lord’s saints will bless Him. Saints are people who trust in Jesus for their salvation. As believers, we should recognize God’s goodness toward everything He has made and praise Him!
There are so many reasons to praise God! The Lord is gracious, merciful, slow to anger, full of love and good to all. The Lord’s goodness extends to all of us! He has mercy for all of His creation, including you and me! David recognized and praised Him for this, and we can praise Him too!
But that’s not all! We can also praise God because His rule is everlasting. He does not change with time. We get to serve and praise the same God who has always been and will always be.
Did you know God’s mighty works don’t stop at the end of the Bible? He continues to answer prayers and do incredible things in people’s lives today. He is worthy of all our praise, and we get to celebrate His great works every day!
