Give each person in your family a large piece of foil. Ask each person to create something out of their foil and share what they made.

Read Daniel 6 out loud and then act it out as a family. Assign everyone one or more parts. Let an older child be the director. Be creative and have fun with it!
After the play, ask your children how we can have the same kind of faith Daniel had. How can we stand up to someone who goes against God’s truth?

Ask your child what a hammer is used for (or show them!). What is its purpose? Hammers are used to secure nails and build things. Hammers were used in ancient times, and they are still used today. While the times were different, the tool and its purpose remain the same.
The Bible has been read and followed since ancient times. Its purpose and usefulness have not changed. God’s Truth in the Bible secures our faith and builds us to be more like Jesus.

Read 2 Peter 3:14-18 and discuss these questions:
What does it sound like when people twist and distort God’s Word?
When has someone told you something that disagreed with God’s truth?
What is something popular today that goes against God’s Word?
What can we do so we don’t get carried away and believe things that aren’t true?
What does it look like for someone your age to grow in the grace and knowledge of Jesus?
