Ever since man fell into sin, God promised His imperfect people a perfect redeemer. Long before Jesus came to Earth, God’s servant Job faithfully declared, “I know my redeemer lives, and at last He will stand upon the earth” (Job 19:25). The Redeemer did stand on Earth and later died on the cross, paying the price of sin with His own precious blood.
This week, as we Talk About redemption, let’s remind our children of these important truths:
Jesus paid for your sin when He died on the cross.
Only Jesus can redeem you from your sin. Salvation is found in no one else.
You receive the gift of salvation by faith alone.
Redemption is a big word with a beautiful meaning we can teach our children. Jesus redeemed us when He took our sinfulness and gave us His righteousness. And because Christ’s righteousness is credited to all who call on Him, our fellowship with God can be restored. Praise God; He has delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.
